Is experience required?
Experience is not required as training will be provided, however some establishments may require a period of experience within health and social care.

How does the recruitment process work?
When we receive a registration enquiry from a prospective agency staff, we will conduct a telephone screening interview. Once you have been successful we will then invite you in for a face to face interview. All online training practical and mandatory must be completed. 5 years employment history must be provided. Enhance DBS and Referencing checks will be completed before we can place you in any work placement.

How often do I need to update my training?
Training is mandatory and you will be required to update on an annual basis. We will send reminders however it will be your responsibility that the training is completed.

Do I have to pay for a new DBS?
Yes DBS charge is £50, which must be paid in full before one can be raised. We accept an enhanced DBS which is placed on the update service. This can be checked during the interview.

Do you offer competitive pay rates?
Yes our pay rates are very competitive depending on experience and establishment you are working. Ask a member of the recruitment team for details.

How does shift bookings work?
Every Monday and Thursday you will receive an availability text message from bookings team. As soon the shifts comes we will book you based on your given availability. The faster you come back to us, the faster you will be able to secure the shift.
Once we have booked you for the shift, you will receive a confirmation message. A day before your shift a reminder text message will be sent out to you. You can give your availability anytime.

When and how will I be paid?
You will be paid on a weekly basis every Friday. Original copy of timesheets are to be submitted every Monday before 12:00pm to be proceed for the following Friday of that week. You will be paid by bank transfer.

Will I be entitled to annual leave?
Yes holiday will be accrued based on hours worked, you have the option to opt in or out of the scheme.

Do you offer flexible working hours?
Yes, we have long and short shift times available. You can request further information during the interview.

Can I work through a limited company?
If you would like to work through a limited company please note that NHS trusts no longer accept workers via PSCs as part of the new IR35 regulations. We are able to accept Limited companies for any work you do through private healthcare providers.

As a Community Care and Support Worker with FirstCol you will be working to support the elderly or those with disabilities in the comfort of their own home while helping them maintain independence. Your role will include completing Client Assessments and Client Care, Plans and assisting the Registered Manager in coordinating hospital discharges and requests for Emergency Care Packages. You will be supporting our customers with things like: Taking medication, personal care, meal preparation, shopping and light domestic duties.
